Like most Hindi movies, AURANGZEB suffers from the curse of the second hour syndrome, for the film languishes and fumbles soon after the intermission. There are too many issues, frankly. First and foremost, the drama loses sheen as it proceeds. Two, the drama seems never-ending and with too many characters and too many things happening in the movie, what comes across is a hodgepodge. Even the culmination fails to give you a high. Adding to the woes is its lethargic pacing! On the whole, AURANGZEB has a great premise, but great plots don't, generally, translate into great films. This one's way too lengthy and mediocre [second hour] to leave any kind of an impression whatsoever. Disappointing!

But at its heart, Aurangzeb is about family dominated by a parent-son theme. Blood and ambition, the film often reminds us, are the choices the characters of Aurangzeb have before them.And while the movie succeeds at a thematic level, it falters with the details. Aurangzeb is a plot that resorts to the 70s formula - family drama, illegitimate son, twins separated at birth and similar domestic dilemma. Unfortunately, while the 70s storyline demanded melodrama, the treatment here is very contemporary and the drama is largely subtle and underplayed. Sabharwal does go weak and faulty in certain areas, but his efforts are indeed worth applause. It is never easy to fictionalise tales of corruption and gangsters on the silver screen. The dialogues are apt and have the right amount of punch that is required. The recurrence of events and people in the climax is the biggest shortcoming of the film. The spontaneity of the story finishes at least 15 minutes before the actual finish, and it doesn't look very fitting after a nice build up. Overall, 'Aurangzeb' is a fun thriller with a racy first half and a dragged climax. It's not devoid of any essential ingredient of a 'masala' film and you can watch it for depicting the dark underbelly of the illegal land deals.

The feeling of insecurity, anxiety, edginess that one experiences during those years is delightfully captured through the various kids in the film. On the whole, GIPPI is a credible take on the 'coming-of-age' variety of movies. This one's straight from the heart. Sweet, simple, emotionally engaging, heart-warming cinema!

Although Kangna Ranaut is thankful to her mother Asha for teaching her basic life lessons, she also confesses to be scared of her strict mom.

Talking about her childhood memories, the actress said she doesn't remember her mom's lullabies, but her strictness.



Sharing a childhood moment, Kangna said: "I was beaten up with a broom in my childhood. There is nothing memorable than that. All mothers sing lullaby for their children and feed them with good food."

"My mother was a Sanskrit teacher and all the students in the school were scared of her," added the actress, who was recently seen opposite John Abraham in Sanjay Gupta's "Shootout At Wadala".

But at the same time, Kangna says her mom trained her so well that if she has to quit acting, she has an alternative.

"My mother had trained me in everything, except for acting. I know how to wash dishes and cook food. I was told that you will let down the family after marriage," she told reporters at Thank You Mom event organised by P&G on the occasion of Mother's Day falling coming Sunday.

"So just in case it doesn't work out here, I am set," she added.

The 26-year-old National Award winning actress, who made her Bollywood debut in 2006 with "Gangster - A Love Story", hails from a Rajput family in Himachal Pradesh.

Kangna will soon be seen in "I Love New Year" opposite Sunny Deol.

Actress Shraddha Kapoor and filmmaker Abhishek Kapoor were also present at the event along with their mothers.

Raj and DK are enthused by Hollywood movies and there's no denying that GO GOA GONE is a film with Hollywood sensibilities. But the best part is that the film never gets dark or depressing. The wit and humor, generously interwoven in the narrative, keeps you smiling all through, despite the blood and gore. On the whole, GO GOA GONE is experimental since something like this has never been attempted earlier. But it's fun, witty, amusing and yes, thoroughly entertaining. Go Goa Gone is positively different from anything you seen before. And for the young and restless(tattooed, ring-pierced, rave-party enthusiasts) or even those who like whacked-out fun, it's a great ride. With easy performances from Kunal, Saif, Vir and Anand and the crackerjack dialogue, the film will keep you in splits for the most part. What is a little tiring though,is the pace of the zombies, who are a bit too monotonous. Sachin-Jigar's Babaji ki booti adds to the mood, almost tempting you to light up and lie back. The shores of Goa and Mauritius seem enticing enough. However some of the situations in GGG are repititive. Hence, the laughs that were coming spontaneously till a point become a bit forced at some juncture.

'Shootout at Wadala' has some trademark Gupta flourishes in the sepia-soaked camerawork, slow-mo action sequences and slick editing. The problem, unfortunately, is that there is barely any semblance of storytelling here. Scenes of visceral violence between the gangs are strung together, interrupted only by Milap Zaveri's clap-trap lines. It all feels empty beyond a point because none of the characters are developed enough for you to care about them.'Shootout at Wadala' revels in its violence, yet sadly all the bloodshed leaves you unaffected and cold. I'm going with two out of five.

The screenwriting is watertight. Although it takes time to settle down, the solid writing in the second hour keeps you on the edge. In fact, the turn of events in the second half takes the film to its zenith. A large chunk of SHOOTOUT AT WADALA is devoted to high-voltage action sequences. Unlike some recent films, the action here is raw and real, reminiscent of the films of the 1980s. On the whole, SHOOTOUT AT WADALA is a fire-brand, paisa vasool entertainer. Brutal and electrifying, it is one of those theatre-going experiences that has a plot, is packaged well and has content [drama, action, dialogue, songs, performances] that works big time with the avid moviegoer. Sanjay effectively creates powerful set-pieces, including the climactic shootout at Wadala. The action is determinedly brutal – one man’s head is crushed in a gola-making machine. And the narration is breathless, like one of those sensational true crime television shows. But what Sanjay and his team of writers forget to provide is a coherent screenplay. Shootout at Wadala is a strangely disjointed film. There is little connective tissue between the set-pieces.So should you see Shootout at Wadala? I think it’s an acquired taste. I find this kind of gleeful brutality hard to stomach. I’m going with two and a half stars. It’s a tough watch in more ways than one.

This is a film designed for the lower stalls and to keep the box office register ringing. It has zero cinematic value. Sanjay Gupta takes a shot at immortality in creating an urban legend about the origins of the idea of an 'encounter', the mystery of the academically accomplished gangster that was Manya Surve, and attempts a grand period action biopic. But all he delivers is a squib of a film that relies on one too many "b****c**ds".

Sanjay Gupta's Shootout At Wadala largely draws inspiration from journalist-author S Hussain Zaidi's Dongri to Dubai-6 decades of the Mumbai mafia. But the maker takes the cinematic liberty of changing the material at hand to make his film and characters more engaging. Or should we say largely entertaining. SAW ultimately belongs to Gupta, who stays true to the genre and makes a welcome return to the credible lot of Bollywood directors. Note: You may not like this film if don't have the appetite for blood and gore.

What’s Good: Balanced and Tempting action sequences which hit hard yet do not leave a traumatizing effect. What’s Bad: The narrative is ruined by the languid editing towards the later half of the film which makes the ending a little troublesome. Watch or Not?: Sanjay Gupta’s Shootout At Wadala is better than the last Shootout edition. Outstandingly, John Abraham does keep true to his word of giving the most pleasantly conspicuous performance of his career. The film’s well drawn out action sequences are delightful which makes the other loopholes in it seem faint. Overall, the film makes for a favorable one time watch. For the ultimate satisfaction of your cinematic juices, I do hope you know how to whistle!

Shootout At Wadala gives us a bunch of gangsters and cops, all trying very hard for coolth. It has action, some of it explosive, but not madly new. What stops it from becoming the film that it could have is an avalanche of dialogue, the sort of smart-alecky lines that sounded so right in the 70s. In 2013, they seem like a tired device to hang an entire film on. And the fact that this genre is now feeling the weight of having been trod upon too often.

Let's get to the good news first. Wadala works because it shamelessly epitomizes its genre and has no qualms about being what it is - an over the top action drama. Despite the pace and massy dialogues the film has several loop holes. SAW will appeal to those who crave for a masala potboiler set in the 80's with corny dialogues, sexual innuendos and enough bang to match your buck. Watch it at a single screen to experience its true flavor.

 Salman, 47, was present Wednesday at the launch of new campaign The Little Hearts, which aims at curing 500 children suffering from heart ailments. Being Human has joined hands with the Fortis Foundation for the initiative.
"Everybody does charity, but not everybody likes to talk about it. Some may do it for personal benefits, to stay in the limelight or others might do it genuinely. According to me, you may do charity for any reason, but do it anyways. No matter what the intention is," Salman told reporters here.

Under the programme, 42 children have already been treated and eight are currently hospitalised in Fortis.
When it comes to donation, the "Dabangg" star feels it's even better to do it first hand.
"Rather than going and giving money to a place where you don't know how it will be utilised, it is better to make direct charity like funding a child's education. At least you can see the results yourself," he said.
The actor also launched a Being Human store in the hospital, which has clothing line for men and children

Aditya Roy Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor's romantic-action film “Aashiqui 2” seems to be wooing box office as it has earned approximately Rs.13 crore in the opening weekend despite the fact that Hollywood venture "Iron Man 3" too came out on the same day and is giving a tough competition, say trade pundits.

Made on a budget of Rs.12 crore, the film's first day collection was Rs.6.35 crore, and on the second day it grossed Rs.6.75 crore, said a statement.


Trade analyst Taran Adarsh praised the film and tweeted: “'Aashiqui 2' has had a fantastic start. Though numbers still being compiled, it's one of the biggest starts for a film starring newcomers!”

The movie, a directorial venture of Mohit Suri, released Friday. It has been co-produced by Bhushan Kumar and Mukesh Bhatt under their respective banners - T Series Films and Vishesh Films.

"The occupancy for the movie is 40 to 50 percent on an average. More of youngsters and college-going crowds are coming for the movie,” Rajesh Thadani of Multimedia Combines told IANS.

He added: “The movie can do better in the coming weeks. The release of 'Iron Man 3' can be a reason for the low occupancy,” he added.

"Aashiqui 2" grabbed the audience's attention after the release of the song “Tum hi ho”, a romantic number with meaningful lyrics, which got over 1,852,947 hits on YouTube within 10 days of its launch.
